Luxury Hospitality Leader Looks to use ‘Big Data’ Analysis to Hire Based on Business Competency Model and Local Culture, Creating Custom Guest Experiences at Hotels Worldwide

DALLAS – July 24, 2013 – PeopleAnswers today announced a software licensing agreement with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to use the PeopleAnswers HR-focused business solution in synchronizing its employee selection, development and succession planning with the metrics identified in the company’s new competency model. Mandarin Oriental will use PeopleAnswers desktop and mobile software platforms to help select and hire management and hourly staff in all of its hotels worldwide.

By using the intuitive, cloud-based PeopleAnswers software to prescreen and behaviorally assess candidates in all locations around the world, Mandarin Oriental now has a consistent global selection process that is customizable to address geographical variations in the 15 countries where it currently operates.

PeopleAnswers combines incumbents’ Behavioral DNA® with on-the-job performance metrics to create behaviorally-based custom Performance Profiles for each position in each country. Then the software uses unique Predictive Talent Analytics to match candidates to the position best corresponding to their existing qualities and tendencies. Customizing selection criteria that accounts for regional differences creates a successful selection process and succession planning model while improving productivity and retention – all valuable for companies operating globally.

The global luxury hotelier currently uses PeopleAnswers in seven of its U.S. hotels, and implementations are in progress for six in Europe. The remaining properties, located in Asia, will be implemented in the next phase. Once the implementation is complete, Mandarin Oriental will use the software in 10 languages including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese, Spanish and Thai.
