  • Selling Hand Engraving at Tiffany & Co.  This awards case study describes the video learning program that Tiffany & Co. created to increase sales professionals’ understanding of the value-added service of hand engraving on Tiffany jewelry and silverware products. A video-centric blended learning program combined video vignettes, rapid eLearning and virtual classroom to demonstrate how understanding hand engraving could deepen client relationships and increase engraving sales. The program won a gold award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of video.
  • SABMiller’s Supply Chain Academy.   This awards case study provides an overview of The Supply Chain Academy, customized for brewing and bottling giant SAMMiller by Accenture. Through the Academy, SABMiller could fill specific knowledge and skill gaps in a wide range of supply chain roles across its Latin American operations, and provide courses covering all supply chain functions, including procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, manufacturing, and customer service. The program won a bronze award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best in competencies and skill development.
  • Amdocs’ Developers Specialization Path.  This awards case study examines how software developer Amdocs leveraged a competency management tool and developed a learning program, Developers Specialization Path. The program increases the knowledge level of newly hired developers at an accelerated pace so they more quickly become efficient and work effectively on projects. The initiative won a gold award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best in competencies and skill development.
  • KPMG’s Global Indirect Tax Capabilities Framework.  This case study describes a partnership between KPMG and Aptara New Media to develop a Global Indirect Tax Capabilities Framework to increase curriculum offerings and other resources to improve the capabilities of professionals working in KPMG’s indirect tax service line. a growing part of the firm’s global tax practice.
  • IBM’s Customized Community-based Learning Curriculum.  This awards case study examines how IBM developed a customized learning curriculum for employees who joined a large retail client in several important roles that required skills and competencies to fit the specific needs of the client. IBM developed customized courses to fit each role to successfully onboard the IBMers with the client organization. The program won a gold award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best in competencies and skill development.
  • Shell’s Standard Primavera Education.  This awards case study describe how Shell, a global group of energy and petrochemical companies, worked with learning provider NIIT to design an eLearning curriculum to train project engineers and project services practitioners on a customized version of Oracle’s Primavera planning software. Learning the Shell Standard Primavera system was crucial to Shell’s goal of transforming its project planning system from several regional processes that made knowledge sharing difficult to a “one Shell way of doing projects”. The effort won a silver award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best in competencies and skill development.
  • Select International’s  SafetyMirror® Workplace Safety Assessment.  This awards case study examines how Select International and Ellegro Learning Solutions developed the Safety Mirror® workplace safety assessment. The goal was to accurately predict safety incidents and injuries, provide clear, useful information to organizational decision-makers to use in selecting safe workers, and provide helpful, non-threatening insights to individuals to help them better understand their behavior tendencies and help them reduce incidents and injuries. The project won a bronze award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best in competencies and skill development.
  • On-the-Job Training Improves Performance at Veridiam.  This awards case study examines on-the-job training programs instituted at components manufacturer Veridiam. The company experience both growth and significant turnover through acquisitions. By developing competency checklists in all job categories through an interactive process, tribal knowledge was transferred from the technical experts into a structured, documented and consistent approach for technical training. The checklists are used to train new employees and get them up to speed more efficiently. The effort won a silver award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best in competencies and skill development.
  • Microsoft’s Project Synergy: Measuring Quality of Learning Content.  This awards case study describes Project Synergy, an initiative of Microsoft and GP Strategies Corp. Project Synergy is a web-based reviewer feedback/bug tracking tool for online learning courses. It allows authorized users to add, edit, update, and prioritize comments and bugs in real time as they are reviewing a course. These can then be assigned and triaged immediately from the tool, in real time. Project Synergy won a gold award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of Best Learning Measurement Approach.
  • Genentech’s Global Performance Management Support Tool.   This awards case study looks at the Global Performance Management Support Tool developed by biotechnology giant Genentech, a member of the Switzerland-based Roche Group, as part of a program to integrate human resource processes for 80,000 employees. The Global Performance Management Support Tool is web-based and provides learning content on the performance management process and skill building for both managers and employees. The effort earned a silver award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of performance support.
  • Point of Use Learning Modules at Sikorski Aircraft.   This awards case study describes Point of Use Learning Modules, developed by GP Strategies Corporation for Sikorsky Aircraft, to provide job support for users of Sikorski’s Contract Operating System (COS). The COS provides daily cost and performance data to every person involved in contract execution through a collaborative Microsoft SharePoint workspace. The learning modules support each COS user by demonstrating how to use the SharePoint workspace and its three key features: collaboration, cost collection, and status. This project won a bronze award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of performance support.
  • American Express Travel: Four Seasons Palm Beach Virtual Tour.  This awards case study describes how American Express Travel used video to create virtual “FAMs” (familiarization trips) for its travel agents to learn about potential destinations for AmEx card members. The pilot virtual FAM focused on the Four Seasons Palm Beach Resort and was designed to prove that videos can be a cost-effective vessel to provide agents with in-depth knowledge of a product. The effort earned a gold award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of video.
  • Microsoft: The Readiness Edge. This awards case study examines how Microsoft, GP Strategies Corporation and PBJS Inc. partnered to create The Readiness Edge, a high-level, video-centric learning program delivered in a talk-show format. The goal was to better inform the 45,000 sales, marketing and services professionals on corporate initiatives and product launches. The Readiness Edge sought to make the learning enjoyable and meaningful to a large and diverse group of employees through humorous skits, interviews and short case studies. The effort earned a silver award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of video.
  • Comcast’s Basic Concepts of XFINITY Video.  This awards case study describes Comcast’s system for informing retail sales executives and representatives about the cable operator’s core XFINITY products and services (fiber-optic technology, XFINITY TV, XFINITY internet, XFINITY Voice) as well as its commitment to customer care. The program, developed in partnership with GP Strategies Corporation, featured 2 to 31/2-minute videos that sales staff can quickly download from Comcasttraining.com. The initiative won a silver award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of video.
  • Hyatt Hotels’ Leadership Videos.  This awards case study features Hyatt’s development, in association with Regis Learning Solutions, of learning videos that demonstrated various forms of leadership. The videos took two forms: messages of teamwork, commitment, adversity, and sacrifice set against the emotionally compelling context of physical challenge; and various thought-leaders across Hyatt shown talking about leadership qualities. The program won a bronze award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of video.
  • Learning U.S. Army 3-0 Operations Via VideoBook.  This awards case study describes how MTS Technologies Inc., a small, minority-owned, disabled-veteran owned business, developed the first 100% video training program for the U.S. Army. The VideoBook, which employs a mix of high-end 3D animations, videos, graphics/images, professional audio narration, and high-end movie effects, is designed to train soldiers heading out in the field without giving them the impression they are sitting through training. The initiative won a silver award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best use of video.
  • Measuring Value and Improvement Through Learning at Coldwell Banker.   This awards case study examines the learning measurement model employed at real estate broker Coldwell Banker to evaluate the effectiveness of its learning strategies. The model measures three key performance indicators: return on investment, return on value, and percent improvement in performance. The program won a silver award in the 2012 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards for the category of best learning measurement approach.
