The line between the LCMS and the LMS has been getting increasingly blurred recently, but NetDimensions and eXact learning solutions have just erased it all together. The two companies on Wednesday announced an affiliate agreement that will allow both companies to extend the impact of their flagship solutions to their respective client bases. shutterstock_71002945

Organizations with an LMS in place are looking for more content authoring and management functionality, but don’t necessarily want to have to manage an entire stable of technologies. At the same time, companies using an LCMS find that they can deliver their content, but are somewhat limited with their options and flexibility.

NetDimensions has always been uniquely positioned with its LMS to meet the needs of compliance and regulation heavy organizations, but a challenge many of these companies face is old, outdated content. By partnering with eXact learning solutions and its LCMS, NetDimensions can now help companies migrate their legacy content into more flexible, modern formats that are sorely lacking in most compliance-themed training.

All of this, combined with the size and global footprints of each company, adds up to an important deal. NetDimensions CEO Jay Shaw offers this outlook: “Large global organizations in highly regulated industries have to keep up with ever-changing compliance training requirements in all different markets. They need robust tools for creating standards-based, multi-language learning content, which can be easily updated and delivered across different channels and markets. This collaboration will enable us to support our clients with a complete learning ecosystem from content creation to content delivery on a wide variety of devices and learning environments, based on learner preferences.”

Michael Rochelle, Chief Strategy Officer for Brandon Hall Group, puts it this way: “This announcement is no surprise coming from two such progressive organizations.  Learning is rapidly evolving and evolution leads to revolution. The newly forged alliance between NetDimensions and eXact learning solutions personifies this revolution. Every organization that is looking to transform their learning into a power plant for individual and organizational performance needs to talk to these companies – right now.”
