New social collaboration and mobile capabilities transform Cornerstone’s talent management suite into a centralized destination that facilitates the ways today’s employees want to work

SANTA MONICA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ:CSOD) today announced new solutions that transform the Cornerstone talent management software suite into a single, collaborative destination for employees and facilitate the ways people want to work. This includes the introduction of Universal Profiles, which aggregates user information and activities from within the Cornerstone system; a new, completely redesigned Cornerstone Connect social collaboration platform; new social performance and employee recognition tools; and expanded native mobile functionality across the suite.

The consumerization of the enterprise and rise of Millennials in the workforce have driven shifts in employees’ needs and attitudes, as evidenced by the increased prevalence of BYOD (bring your own device) and BYOA (bring your own application) in the workplace. In addition, the workplace is becoming multi-generational, multi-geographical, multi-cultural, location-agnostic and device-independent.

“We saw an opportunity to reimagine work by combining all of the enterprise-class talent management capabilities that organizations require with the collaborative functionality employees want, all packaged in an easy-to-use, consumer-style interface,” said Adam Miller, founder and CEO of Cornerstone OnDemand. “Individual applications for things like social collaboration and project management have limited, if any, integration with other enterprise software solutions. So while they may allow employees to perform basic tasks, they ultimately lack the ability to have a bigger impact on the business. We solved that problem.”

For talent management leaders, the changes in the workplace are further complicated by a workforce that not only demands flexibility in where and how they work, but one that also wants continuous training and development, faster career progression, and constant feedback and recognition.

“The right approach to talent management is as critical as ever to making sure organizations are ready to support the new world of work,” said Miller. “This means creating a work environment where employees are given easy access to the resources they need to develop, collaborate, advance and be engaged in their jobs in order to perform at their very best.”

Available this month, Cornerstone’s new features and enhancements help to ensure that social collaboration and mobile productivity are central building blocks for an organization’s overall talent management strategy. Putting everything employees need to know to do their jobs in one, always-available place with real-time connectivity not only helps people work smarter, but also helps organizations maximize work performance and improve employee engagement.

Key to this approach is the new Universal Profile. Similar to a personal profile from popular social sites, Universal Profile serves as the center of an employee’s universe within the Cornerstone suite. It offers a consolidated view of personal information such as contact details, work experience, skills and expertise, and activities in the Cornerstone system. It also serves as an access point for connecting with colleagues, completing tasks, searching for subject matter experts, and giving and receiving social feedback.

Additional product updates include:

Cornerstone Connect.

An all-new, completely redesigned Cornerstone Connect takes social productivity to the next level. Connect is the only social business solution that embeds activity streams and real-time collaboration within a talent management application, enabling talent activities to naturally blend with the daily activities of executives, managers and employees.

Project and Task Management.

Employees now have the most resourceful tools for accomplishing tasks, projects and goals, all seamlessly embedded within Cornerstone talent activities for learning, performance, succession and recruiting.

Social Performance and Feedback.

Trigger the right employee behaviors with measurable recognition that drives results on a daily basis. With social feedback, employees have the power to provide feedback and badges to their peers and colleagues for work contributions. It’s an immediate and impactful way to reward work beyond annual performance reviews.

Cornerstone Mobile

extends its native functionality to provide employees with access to mobile learning, collaboration and performance on the devices they love. This includes a mobile version of Cornerstone’s popular Observation Checklist for tracking real-time competencies and skills in the field, as they are performed. Cornerstone Mobile supports all iOS and Android devices, including smartphones and tablets, ensuring that employees at all levels have access to the people and information they need to succeed, no matter where they are.

Miller will showcase these new solutions as part of his opening keynote address at Cornerstone Convergence 2013, the company’s annual client conference, which is being held June 3-5 in San Diego, Calif.
