The ProAdvisor program is an integral part of Intuit’s business model, and the organization was looking to make enhancements to the program. By integrating its various systems with its LMS, SumTotal Systems, Intuit was able to achieve this goal and many others. The results included growth in both certified ProAdvisors as well as the number of accountants trained on the company’s offerings. Intuit earned a Gold Award for Best Advance in Learning Technology Implementation in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

Developing Frontline Leaders at Baptist Health South Florida

Baptist Health South Florida has a goal to be the one of the best healthcare providers, and it knows that developing internal leaders is the way to make it happen. The company’s Frontline Leader Program gives leaders tools they need to build the highly engaged, high-performing teams Baptist Health will need to succeed in the future. The $2.3 billion institution earned a Gold Award for Best Advance in Leadership Development in the 2015 Excellence Awards program.

Harnessing the Power of Workforce Planning at Tata Consultancy Services

Workforce planning becomes a business requirement as organizations grow in complexity and headcount. This case study examines the process and results achieved by Tata Consultancy Services as it pursues workforce planning for its 30,000+ employees. For achievements in everything from strategy and stakeholder identification to process design and implementation, the $15 billion firm earned a Gold Award for Best Advance in Workforce Management and Planning in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

Managing Organizational Knowledge at Defense Manpower Data Center

When you consider the aggregated knowledge of an organization’s workforce, being able to harness that information provides a clear advantage. In this case study, we learn about how the US government entity, Defense Manpower Data Center, was able to do this through new technology. The initiative yielded results from improved course evaluations to reduced organizational costs due to better-trained staff. This earned DMDC a Silver Award for Best Advance in Learning Technology Implementation in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

Healthcare Leadership Transformation at Edwards Lifesciences

Edwards Lifesciences has been offering targeted training for its salesforce on meeting the needs of its customers, but there was still a gap in sales performance. This initial effort led to the development of a specific program designed to help sellers conquer unique challenges in the healthcare vertical. The initiative helped to drive sales to hospital organizations and position Edwards Lifesciences as a true, valued partner. This earned the $2 billion medical device firm a Silver Award for Best Learning Program Supporting a Change Transformation Business Strategy in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

Excelsior College Educates the Next Generation of Teachers

With Common Core becoming a required standard for teachers across the U.S., Excelsior College decided to develop a course that would assist educators with making the transition. The solution is based on interactive tutorials that provide detailed information about the theory and history behind Common Core, including practical pointers for teachers on how to implement the new standards and teaching methods. The tutorials are comprised largely of specific examples in the form of model classroom conversations or animations depicting specific learning tools and methods. This earned the Albany, New York-based college a Silver Award for Best Advance in Custom Content in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

How Scotts Miracle-Gro Plants Product Knowledge

Scotts Miracle-Gro, like many companies, has a seasonal product in its line of fertilizers and lawn care products. This means the roll-out of product training has to be well-timed and thorough enough to prepare learners for the prime selling season. This case study highlights the custom training program SMG uses to prepare associates for this challenge, including live sessions, interactive elements, a blend of media, and more. The $2.8 billion chemical company earned a Silver Award for Best Custom Content in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

UL Grows Leaders with the China Leadership Program

UL, like many organizations, knows that leadership bench strength is a key indicator of a firm’s resiliency in the face of business challenges. The global company set out in 2010 to qualify 100 Chinese leaders internally, preparing them as future strategic leaders of the organization. Through action learning and hands-on activities, more than 50 leaders have already been added to the list, and it grows annually. This innovative program earned UL a Bronze Award for Best Advance in Leadership Development in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

How PepsiCo Develops Internal Leaders

PepsiCo’s expansion and business-growing plans required the strengthening of the leadership pipeline and the acceleration of the careers of emerging leaders. This was driven not only by the number of leaders needed to support growth but also by the changing mindset and leadership capabilities the new context demanded. This case study highlights the Accelerated Leadership Program and how it develops business leaders for the $9 billion global company. This earned PepsiCo a Bronze Award for Best Advance in Leadership Development in the 2015 Excellence Awards.

Penn Foster’s Mobile Student Study Tool

This awards case study features Penn Foster College’s study tool that provides interactive memory games using responsive design and an open and modifiable database for an unlimited amount of content on mobile devices. Students can choose and filter by content and activity, and track progress and results. The initiative earned Penn Foster College a Bronze Award for Mobile Learning in the 2015 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards.

However, most companies still focus their learning efforts on the classroom and the course. Chief Executive Officer of Brandon Hall Group Mike Cooke Prior to joining Brandon Hall Group, Mike Cooke was the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of AC Growth. Mike held leadership and executive positions for the majority of his career, at which he was responsible for steering sales and marketing teams to drive results and profitability. His background includes more than 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, management, and operations in the research, consulting, software and technology industries. Mike has extensive experience in sales, marketing and management having worked for several early high-growth emerging businesses and has implemented technology systems to support various critical sales, finance, marketing and client service functions. He is especially skilled in organizing the sales and service strategy to fully support a company's growth strategy. The concept of growth was an absolute to Mike and a motivator in starting AC Growth, in order to help organizations achieve research driven results. Most recently, Mike was the VP and General Manager of Field Operations at Bersin & Associates, a global analyst and consulting services firm focused on all areas of enterprise learning, talent management and talent acquisition. Tasked with leading the company's global expansion, Mike led all sales operations worldwide. During Mike's tenure, the company has grown into a multi-national firm, conducting business in over 45 countries with over 4,500 multi-national organizations. Mike started his career at MicroVideo Learning Systems in 1992, eventually holding a senior management position and leading all corporate sales before founding Dynamic Minds. Mike was CEO and Co-Founder of Dynamic Minds, a custom developer of software programs, working with clients like Goldman Sachs, Prentice Hall, McGraw Hill and Merrill Lynch. Also, Mike worked for Oddcast, a leading provider of customer experience and marketing solutions, where he held a senior management position leading the company into new markets across various industries. Mike also serves on the Advisory Board for Carbon Solutions America, an independent sustainability consulting and carbon management firm that specializes in the design and implementation of greenhouse reduction and sustainability plans as well as managing the generation of carbon and renewal energy and energy efficiency credits. Mike attended University of Phoenix, studying Business Administration and Finance. He has also completed executive training at the Chicago Graduate School of Business in Chicago, IL.
