New Research Reports

Research Summary: Talent Acquisition Technology 2016

This report summarizes the top five findings from Brandon Hall Group’s 2016 Talent Acquisition Technology Study. Onboarding, social tools, and predictive analytics are the most sought-after technologies. The research also shows a low maturity level for talent acquisition technology, with most organizations giving low satisfaction scores to tech solutions and most lacking a well-defined strategy for their use of TA technology to drive their TA programs.

KnowledgeGraphic: Talent Sourcing Technology: Importance vs. Satisfaction

This KnowledgeGraphic illustrates the disparity between the talent sourcing technologies that organizations find important and the satisfaction they have with their current solutions. The key takeaway here is that the highest average rating for any sourcing solution is “somewhat satisfied.” No solution is rated “satisfied” or “very satisfied,” which shows the improvement in functionality that organizations seek. The data comes from the 2016 Brandon Hall Group Talent Acquisition Technology Study, concluded in April 2016.

Award-Winning Technology Reviews

These technology reviews – winners of 2015 Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Awards – were released for publication:

Bloomfire Fuels Knowledge-Based Collaboration

Today’s workplace is inefficient – information overload, when combined with lack of knowledge sharing and collaboration, is holding back productivity. The result is longer sales cycles, disengaged employees, and dissatisfied customers. Bloomfire, a knowledge and collaboration software platform, helps teams find answers, solve problems, locate information and expertise, and tap into collective knowledge – anytime, anywhere.

Competencies Is Not a Dirty Word

While most executives still scoff at the very mention of competencies, fact is that competencies are the pulse of performance improvement and acceleration – at both the individual and organizational levels. But what does a competency-based approach to performance look like and how do the best-performing organizations go about applying it to their business actions and decisions? Brandon Hall Group’s Claude Werder and Michael Rochelle and Scott Barnard, SVP of UL, share essentials of competency management practices that have a positive and sustaining impact on your business results and corporate culture.

Research Spotlight: Learning Technology

The LMS continues to be the biggest learning technology expenditure for organizations. But with a continuous stream of new technologies and a move to less formal learning experiences, learning technology is changing. In this research spotlight, David Wentworth, Brandon Hall Group’s Principal Learning Analyst, looks at the results of our recently conducted 2016 Learning Technology Study, focusing on the ways organizations are using technology to deliver a wider spectrum of learning experiences.

Getting to know your Workforce via Predictive Analytics

Predictive analytics as applied to the workforce has mostly focused on determining when an employee might leave. However there are other uses of predictive analytics that can give insights to what will make employees more engaged, what affects their satisfaction, and how changes to policies might impact morale, for example. Cliff Stevenson, Principal Analyst for Workforce Management at the Brandon Hall Group, presented the latest research, and Brian Gaspar, Senior Director of Product Development and Innovation at SumTotal Systems, shared some specific examples of how predictive analytics are used to answer a wider range of questions.

Zooming’ to Success in the Modern World of HR

In Miami Beach last week, Principal Workforce Management Analyst Cliff Stevenson attended the Wisdom 2016 conference, presented by PeopleFluent. A highlight was the keynote by John Sculley (former CEO of Apple). In Sculley’s book Moonshot, zooming is explained as taking a very broad view across industries, products, and disciplines, which can allow you to borrow concepts and ideas. It occurred to Stevenson that this is what HR has been doing for greater part of two decades, and this concept of zooming is really an intrinsic part of HR in 2016 and beyond.
